The Best Devices To Gear Up With In 2021

If you’re looking to replace your old phone or are interested in a tablet, then you’re in luck. Redwood Creative has some recommendations for the best devices for 2021. Check out these smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches.

Smartphones

So, iPhone or Android? It will always be up to preference, so we’ll leave the statistics up to you. The iPhone 12 currently has a 4.5 rating on Google. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S21 also rates 4.5. It is important to note that Samsung put more effort into the Ultra, which rates 4.7. However, the Ultra is at $1,200. If you’re interested, you can read all about it here.  Likewise, Apple has a luxury version, the iPhone 12 Pro, which rates at 4.6. The pro version contains enhanced camera features and sturdier material. As far as the standard version, it has 5G support and Apple’s new A14 chip. They renewed the design and made the phone a little sturdier. Meanwhile, Samsung’s S21 also contains 5G support and a new design. Samsung drastically improved the camera quality. The S21 has Gorilla Glass covering the phone.

Our verdict? If you can wait for a new phone, wait until later for a new release. With huge changes to both Apple and Samsung’s design, it is best to wait until they work out kinks and improve bugs. Nevertheless, it is important to get a 5G-compatible smartphone soon. Why not try switching it up and see what surprises you?

Tablets

These big phones/small computers are convenient to have. It’s perfect for traveling and if you like to utilize all areas of the house. While iPads were the best tablets to have and are still trusty, the Samsung Tab S6 isn’t too bad, either. Especially with the S pen, which will help your stylus pen stay with your device. If all of your devices are Apple, then stick with the iPad. They’re always reliable and easy to use. Otherwise, see how Samsung has advanced on their tablet game. Both have the options for LTE/5G support.

Other Devices

Aside from a new phone or a new tablet, smartwatches and FitBits are still in. Apple’s Watch Series 6 is noted for its blood oxygen sensor. Samsung also has smartwatches, and they can connect to Apple products. Otherwise, the Fitbit Sense is the best smartwatch. It has a long battery life, a GPS, and compatible with both Apple and Samsung.

Let us know what you think the best devices are for 2021! We are always open to suggestions.

The Three Big Web Browsers: A Breakdown

The three big web browsers; Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox, have been around for years now. Internet Explorer used to be the standard, but nowadays Google Chrome has been the top. It makes a difference through various devices and what you want to to achieve.

Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge, formally Internet Explorer, got a major make-over when people complained how slow and outdated Internet Explorer was. Now, the new look and name has new features as well. “Collections” allows users to categorize their bookmarks. Also, browsing with multiple tabs is now easier with vertical tabs. There is smart copy, which copies your content and pastes accordingly. Other features include tracking prevention, password monitor (hacking prevention), and InPrivate Mode. If you have a visual impairment, you can adjust the screen for better readability. And yes, it runs faster now and doesn’t take a few hours to download files. However, some things you may need to watch out for. Such as, no Extension Support, which adds extra security.

Mozilla Firefox

Mozilla Firefox has also been around since desktops were large and chunky. It’s mostly used in offices and in schools. There’s a reason for that- Firefox is arguably the safest web browser out there. The second best Mozilla aspect is that they are non-profit, so they design with you in mind instead of their wallets. With both of these in mind, you can be reassured that your information is not being sold to third parties for marketing purposes. Other features include effective ad-blocking, browser customization, and device syncing. On the other hand, since Firefox isn’t quite as popular as the other two, it’s not compatible for all websites and devices.

Google Chrome

Ah yes, Google Chrome. If you have a Google e-mail account, then Chrome is a necessity. It launched in 2008, so it’s the youngest of the trio. Its best features are extension support and customization. Due to Chrome being tied to a g-mail account, it makes it easier to organize your accounts and passwords. Thus being said, use Chrome on your Android devices. Chrome is recognized for its quick loading times and easy-to-use design. In fact, it’s the quickest one! And, it’ll automatically translate different languages. Just be aware of the mass RAM that Chrome burns up. PC Mag dug up some Chrome hacks.

Other Web Browsers/ Honorable Mentions

What about the others, like Safari, Opera, and Tor? After people got fed up with slowpoke Internet Explorer, other web browsers developed. Apple designed Safari for their products, for better data sharing and memory. Opera is rising onto the e-browser market. Opera’s best feature is a phenomenal ad blocker and has its own extension support. Tor is noted for being safe and reliable, like Mozilla. These browsers just aren’t as popular as the other ones as they have features that hold them back, like slow loading times and incompatibility. However, The Guardian recommends Tor if you don’t mind waiting a couple more seconds.
